History & lore

Colonial Park Cemetery served Savannah from the 1750s until closings in the mid-1800s. Weathered stones and yellow-fever-era history feed local storytelling. It is an open municipal cemetery park during daytime hours and a frequent waypoint for licensed walking tours of the Historic District, which also includes houses such as the Sorrel–Weed House and hotels like the Marshall House.
